2020 has been a challenges for all of us, and with the pandemic leading to increased numbers of children trying to survive on the streets, CYH nearly doubled its in-house capacity (caring for up to 23 boys concurrently, from 15). In the past year, CYH has helped 230 boys and 9 girls get off the streets and enrolled into our programs, of whom 93% were reunited with family and for the others we either located adoptive families in the community or helped the older one’s to learn a self-sustaining trade. Fourteen children tested HIV+ during our intake and were connected to ongoing HIV care, as were an additional 9 HIV+ members from among family members or the community. External funding was received through grants from the United Nations and AIDS Healthcare Foundation. We are grateful for all the support we have received, and for the dedication and commitment of our staff. From our CYH family to your’s we wish you all a happy holiday season, and happy and healthy 2021!
